Did The Blue Tsunami Just Swallow The Far Left?

Real left-wingers think Democrats will keep doing what they do best: selling out to the Swamp

Tuesday’s blu-nami was historic – a wipeout of epic proportions. Democrats flipped at least seven Republican-held Senate seats, including in Texas (a massacre), Kansas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, Iowa and Maine. With a few races still unresolved, they already maintain a 54–44 edge over the GOP. In the House, Democrats are projected to hold over 250 seats. Their margin of victory in the national popular vote was the largest for either party in a midterm since the 1974 post-Watergate elections. It was also bigger than the 2018 Democratic wave and the major Republican waves of 1994, 2010, and 2014. Democrats are jubilant right now and believe they will storm into government, crush the remnants of the Trump regime, and deliver win after win for ordinary American people.

Well, not all of them – at least not the left-wingers who are unafraid to call out the Democratic establishment.

Understandably, many Republicans and conservatives believe that not only is the GOP facing extinction, but that America herself is, too. America, they say, has come under the grip of an ugly alliance between “communism” and “Islamism” – or the “Red-Green” alliance – that will tear down the country’s institutions, put the Constitution through a paper shredder, and leave the next several generations of Americans impoverished, indebted, and enslaved. But … But!

In some of the less-trafficked corners of the internet and social media, left-wing Democrats and Democratic socialists are already expressing some skepticism about their own revolution against the DNC. In their view, there’s a decent chance the populist energy that propelled the big wave will get quickly absorbed by the Swamp and the “uniparty.” A lot of Republicans might be leaving town, but all those lobbyists and special interest groups are there to stay. There are other signs, too, that the Democrats’ midterms bonanza will, possibly, blow up in their face.
