The racial grievance industrial complex thought it finally had proof of something it has spent years warning black Americans about: being surrounded by white people can get you killed.
Then the evidence came in.
It’s a crazy thing to write but it’s true. After decades of condemning segregation, modern race hustlers increasingly advocate for self-segregation as a form of self-preservation.
Black-only dorms on college campuses. Black-only social groups. Warnings that being the only black person in a room with white people can put you in danger. The idea that Americans need to learn to live together has given way to the more toxic idea that maybe we are better off apart, after all.
That was the premise underlying much of the response to the disappearance of 18-year-old Nolan Wells over Fourth of July weekend.
