‘OPEN BORDERS’ DOESN’T EVEN WORK FOR ANIMALS
My left-wing mutuals on social media are sharing a new “gotcha” to combat those of us who want to deport illegal immigrants.
“Migration is an Earth right,” they say.
The slogan dates back to 2021, when an Ecuadorian artist slapped it on a mural in collaboration with the National Audubon Society. The mural compares the story of the tropical parula, a migratory warbler, with immigrants in New York City.
Anti-ICE activists are sharing the slogan affixed on top of photos and artwork of various migratory birds, mostly geese and ducks. Here’s an example:
The point is that because animals can move freely about the world, so too should humans. No borders. No walls. Just the peaceful flapping of wings and the decidedly less quiet erection of a Haitian tent city under the Del Rio International Bridge until, finally, a fresh and abundant source of food, water, and shelter calls out to you. Nature is healing.
