State of Monday: 'KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS'
It’s a phrase I’ve kept returning to as I’ve watched leftism recede, revealing wreckage.
Greetings, Dear Reader,
So much happening to write about, I had to figure out a way to write about all of it.
Then I thought, “Ye shall … ”
‘KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS’
Ella Emhoff is in the top one percent of female models.
She signed to a modeling agency called “IMG.” I have no idea what this is, but people say it’s the top agency. A TikTok video of her went viral over the weekend and now apparently nepotism is a point of discussion on X.
People in the comments are defending Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter by saying stuff like, “well, actually, she’s very pretty.”
So I checked some of her modeling images. There are indeed some that are striking.
More generally, however, I look at Emma and think: What did you do to yourself?
You’ve got armpit hair and leg tattoos. There’s so much about you that’s just visually gross, and it seems deliberately so. You could be somewhat pretty (not dropdead, but somewhat) most of the time if you wanted to be. Instead, you choose this grotesqueness.
At the same time a DC resident is also going viral for her complete shock at the state of the newly refurbished Columbus Circle in DC.
“The water is so blue!” She exclaims. “And the marble, I’ve never seen marble like this!”
It truly is a stunning makeover. It was also as of just two years ago the primary home of DC’s homelessness, drug and crime problem. In the span of less than a decade, the area right in front of historic Union Station became infested with the dregs of society. “It wasn’t safe” is itself a euphemism. Women I know went out of their way, often adding thirty minutes to their commute, to avoid the area.
Now not only is it (almost) entirely cleaned up of the riff raff, but it’s also nice to see. Literally visually pleasing.
CECOT, the notorious prison in El Salvadore, is probably more imposing than visually pleasing.
It’s been highly maligned in the English-speaking press as a modern gulag, especially since President Donald Trump started shipping illegals there. Inspired by the prison, liberal American bloviators liken Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele to Putin (not Stalin, though, never him, lol).
A British broadcaster recently went down there to tour the prison. The entire clip is worth watching.
He said you “couldn’t help” but feel “pity” for the inmates based on the harsh conditions in the facility. Then the part that went massively viral was him describing how CECOT officials showed him a video of an inmate he’d met. It showed him killing five men with a machete. The perpetrator didn’t even bother wearing a mask. The men were basic linesmen who had strayed into his gang’s territory in order to install electric lines, and they hadn’t asked permission. So he slaughtered them and recorded it for distribution as a warning.
The broadcaster then said that, despite the appearances, the prison “worked.” Murders went from “one an hour” down to basically nothing.
I’d bet the streets were a whole lot prettier too, eh?
There’s a reason one of the most quoted books in all of western culture is the Bible. I really had no idea how deeply it had permeated even the common English lexicon until I finished studying the Gospels just this year. It’s pretty much everywhere.
“Ye shall know them by their fruits” isn’t necessarily a deep cut, but it’s also not “cast the first stone” ubiquitous.
It’s a phrase I’ve kept returning to as I’ve watched leftism recede, revealing wreckage.
It’s ugly. The fruits are ugly and grotesque. Kids stepping over public drug dens to get on the school bus. A bare-assed grown man crapping in plain view of the public on a train platform. Murders, burned down cities, battalions of third worlders storming the border, dragging ragdolled, shellshocked children through deep waters. Graduates of major universities who can’t properly read a single sentence off a notecard. Obama’s presidential library. The African American History Museum. Both jutting out hideously in otherwise pristine, classical cityscapes. The architectural equivalents of Shontel and Shanyqua turning Tuesday morning in an otherwise peaceful airport terminal into an absolute scene.
Kids mutilated in gender clinics. Kids castrated not just sexually, but mentally on SSRIs. A liberal woman in her 20s going viral for celebrating every time the American birthrate ticks down. A man in women’s lingerie reading inappropriate books to five year olds.
Throughout history it’s always been the same lesson. Great men and women build great and beautiful things. The Sistine Chapel. The Ford Motor Company. Mothers with four or more kids. Schools, skyscrapers, churches, rockets, jets, aircraft carriers, sprawling university campuses and great big stadium lecture halls next to great big sports stadiums.
What are their fruits? How do we know them? They go far beyond leg tattoos and armpit hair.
Like the British broadcaster, as the water recedes, we should force them to watch. Look at what you’ve wrought. These are your fruits. This is how we know you.
