State of Tuesday: DON'T WORRY, JACK HUGHES, WE'LL PROTECT YOU
The left’s delusions will ultimately be its undoing. But you’ll always have a plate at our table.
Greetings, Dear Reader,
Here we go again. I rarely do the same subject twice in a row, but I can’t help it.
Let’s get after it.
DON’T WORRY, JACK HUGHES, WE’LL PROTECT YOU
I learned something recently about Jack Hughes that I didn’t previously know.
Hughes, who shot the so-called “golden goal” to propel USA Hockey over the Canadians in overtime, also embraced “pride night” for the NHL.
In follow-on interviews, he called it “really important”; granted, in perhaps the most deadpan, low energy way possible. (He cites New Jersey, home of his team, the Devils, multiple times. And the interview comes off a bit like a hostage video. Maybe he was just a bit tired.)
On the flip side, the Philadelphia Flyer’s Ivan Provorov had to undergo a locker room struggle session after he refused to wear a gay jersey, citing his Russian Orthodox religious views. Reporters from a host of media outlets refused to accept his reasoning, leading to a rather terse exchange.
But none of that matters now, not to the modern political left. Hughes and his whole team are currently subject to the vitriol and hatred of the same lefties who once praised him for donning leftist talismans.
Their sin is laughing at one of Trump’s jokes.
USA Today’s “For The Win” sports section declared, “The USA Men’s Hockey Team Utterly Failed To Meet The Cultural Moment”.
Unsurprisingly, the byline of the article, Mary Clarke, is a fat woman with a forgettable face, who has pronouns and a gay flag in her bio, and whose pinned tweet invites her followers to her new account on BlueSky, a site known for being a cesspool of lefty mental illness.
Their sins, according to Clarke, were they appeared with FBI Director Kash Patel, “drank beers and celebrated,” and enjoyed a call from President Donald Trump.
More specifically, they laughed at a Trump joke.
First he said he’d invite them to the State of the Union, but then he added something off the cuff.
“I must tell you, we’re going to have to bring the women’s team, you do know that?” He said, adding, “I do believe I probably would be impeached” if he didn’t invite them.
It turns out, the joke, that the political left is so soul crushingly insane that they’d impeach him if he ignored the women’s team, ended up being somewhat prophetic.
The Daily Dot, which I’m surprised still exists, piled on the USA team: “Rot in Hell.”
Others boosted the “backlash,” rejoicing in the team being “slammed” for laughing.
Disgraced, long-mentally unwell former ESPN host Keith Olbermann was completely unhinged.
“It’s official: US Gold Winning Olympic Hockey team declined invitation to be political props for Trump at the SOTU tomorrow
The women, that is
The men are still too stupid, self-absorbed and misogynistic to realize that going, will stick to them permanently,” he tweeted.
Most of this coverage amplified the online hystericism of the left’s loyal posters.
Charlotte Clymer, a hideous man in a dress who also pretends to be a political operator, used Hughes’s jacked up teeth to shriek about socialized dental care.
Sophie Perinot, who writes dramatic novels about “European Royalty,” said mothers of these players should “uninvite” them from family Christmas. Perinot, who looks exactly as you’d imagine, also boosted Olbermann’s mentally ill tweet.
A producer for Jen Psaki’s mediocre political TV show declared celebrations of patriotism “openly fascist.”
The meltdown I love the most appears on Substack. Transgender-flag-in-bio sports writer Avery Beaumont declared all the patriotic celebrations “scary.”
And in his entire screed, this is my favorite bit by far. It’s complete lack of self awareness is so beautiful.
That’s f***ing right, Avery, we are for nothing but our families, our buddies, and our country.
What I don’t think Hughes and the rest of them fully understand is that none of it is about ice hockey, morality, or even loyalty. Pride night is irrelevant. So is accomplishment, merit, family, teamplay, and community.
The left doesn’t care about any of it.
The jerseys those players were forced to wear all those months back, that was just a trojan horse. It’s not even really about the gays.
The left’s hyperfocus on immutable traits and fictional oppressors is strictly about power and influence. It’s a delusion, a spell, meant to foist mediocrity on exemplary people and organizations.
Hughes doesn’t understand the jersey is just the beginning. It’s the gateway to fat, pink-haired lesbians getting hired by corporate as “chief feels officers.” Then they start doing the messaging, the hiring and firing, and pretty soon after that the rulemaking.
They don’t care if you did the right thing (under duress?) months ago. What matters is your continued piety to their deranged worldview.
Thou Shalt Not Laugh At Obviously Funny Jokes Pointing Out How Absurd And Mentally Ill We Are
It’s okay, Jack, it really is. We on the right genuinely don’t care if you wore the gay jersey. We’ll celebrate your truly outstanding accomplishments regardless of your personal beliefs. We don’t uninvite family from Thanksgiving. We love America when it wins, and we lift it up when it doesn’t.
You’re truly welcome here, bud.
The left’s delusions will ultimately be its undoing. But you’ll always have a plate at our table.

An important read. The Left’s never understood this and we just got the picture-perfect example to illustrate that.
