State of Tuesday: US On Iran War: The Jews Made Me Do It
I’d bet that most of this info came from the White House itself
Greetings, Dear Reader,
Welcome back to State of the Day, where I strip the euphemism and misdirection off national politics and give it to you straight, no ice, no mixer.
That’s important to note yet again as I get right to the guts with today’s headline …
THE JEWS MADE ME DO IT
Full disclosure up front: I believe dusting terrorist scumbags and putting bad men like Xi and Putin on f***ing notice is a good thing. There’s a hedge, however. My stomach stops short of protracted conflict. I’m anti-loser and anti-needless years of war that enrich elites in the Washington, D.C., area.
If you can, hit hard and win fast.
With that out of the way: How do you know someone’s telling the whole truth? Well, when there’s huge public downside to what they’re saying is one way.
Public statements from Marco Rubio, along with an in-depth accounting from The New York Times, reveal the simplest of top-line explanations for Trump’s new war with Iran: The Jews made me do it.
The lead of the story also could not be more clear.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel walked into the Oval Office on the morning of Feb. 11, determined to keep the American president on the path to war.”
I’m not generally a betting man, but I’d bet that most of this info came from the White House itself. They’re telling on Bibi.
If Israel was going to strike Iran with or without us, as Rubio outlined in statements to the press, Iran’s response was not going to simply target Israel alone. US bases, assets and personnel in the area would also be targeted.
Therefore, according to Rubio’s logic to Trump, the US is obligated to take part if for nothing else but to mightily overwhelm Iran in the initial strikes.
A man after mine own heart, JD Vance was skeptical about striking Iran, but caveated.
From the Times:
Vice President JD Vance, a longtime skeptic of American military interventions in the Middle East, argued in a White House Situation Room meeting that if the United States was going to hit Iran, it should “go big and go fast,” according to people familiar with his remarks.
If you’re gonna go, go big and go fast. F*** yeah.
(I’ve long maintained that if Biden and the Democrats truly believed eastern Ukraine was an existential redline, they’d have parked a handful of regiments there toot sweet.)
The downside to the White House blaming Bibi for the war is it fuels the worst elements of both the right and left in America. Jew hatred hasn’t been this popular politically in 100 years. More American bodies will pile up for sure, and with them, more antisemitism.
The upside is that’s how you know they’re telling at least most of the truth about the rest of it.
Iran’s initial posture in diplomatic talks, according to reports, was nothing short of stunning. According to Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, they announced to him almost flippantly their intent to continue enriching uranium as a “sovereign right,” and, shockingly, that they already had enough to construct 11 dirty bombs.
Witkoff could be flat-out lying, of course.
If you don’t find that convincing, perhaps Iran’s impending deal with China to purchase hypersonic missiles will put you over the top. And, in case you think that’s just more lies, here comes a card carrying CCP elite Viktor Gao straight up saying it.
“China makes some of the world’s most sophisticated missiles – and it’s absolutely right for China and Iran … to trade, including military missiles,” he said in late February.
“And I think the whole world should be put on notice that both China and Iran will have full sovereign right to do such transactions with each other, and no country should pretend to be surprised.”
We’re not surprised, Viktor, not even slightly. China is perfectly free to sell hypersonic missile technology to a rogue Islamic terror state. Watch what happens next, though, Mr. Gao.
Ahem:
Who is putting whom on notice now?
Mr. Gao should not be surprised. He should be well read on the lessons of Sun Tzu. Throughout his book, Tzu repeatedly emphasizes attacking weakness. “Speed is the essence of war.”
Following strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities and Maduro’s ouster, all without registering even a slight blip on Chinese-made radar, it’s hard to argue Iran was in a position to look at the West and overtly declare intent to develop nukes and buy missiles from China.
And like my boxing coach routinely says, “There’s no such thing as a sucker punch. If conflict is inevitable, take the knockout punch the moment you have it.”
The other, significantly less sloganable explanation from Rubio was that, beyond Chinese tech and impending nukes, a recent and stark asymmetry between offense and defense had emerged in recent years.
In short, fabricating missiles, bombs and drones costs about 1/20th what it costs to shoot them down.
“There would come a point where they would have so many conventional missiles, so many drones, that they could inflict so much damage that no one can do anything about their nuclear program. That is what they were trying to do. Is put themselves in a place of immunity.
They are producing by some estimates up to 100 of these missiles a month. That’s not to mention the thousands of drones. Now compare that to the six or seven interceptors that can be produced a month.
And that’s a weakened Iran. Imagine a year from now. Imagine a year and half from now the capabilities they would have to inflict damage on us. Especially in a regime run by radical clerics. The Ayatollah is … or was … a radical cleric.
This had to happen no matter what.”
Finally, Dear Reader, there’s not much that’s going to make the energy expenditure of crying over spilt milk justified. The punch has been thrown.
How history will remember this – for better or for worse – depends entirely on what happens next.
Will an even worse leadership arise out of the smoke? It’s been somewhat of a trend with regime change.
Ever since he rolled down that gold escalator, however, Trump has bucked trends.
