WORLD’S DUMBEST ANTI-TRUMP OP
Sen. Mark Kelly is posting images of his military awards. He’s running through his military bio. In the meantime, the top of Sen. Elissa Slotkin’s turtleneck has vomited up a lump. That lump makes regrettable sounds.
“I’m Elissa Slotkin … former CIA officer … you can refuse illegal orders,” the lump above the turtleneck said.
And so began the lamest, most reckless and wildly irresponsible anti-Trump psyop in recent times. The message featured a handful of veterans and intelligence operatives turned elected Democrats. They wanted the military to know something obvious: Don’t do illegal things. Also: You’re being misused.
“The administration is pitting our uniformed military” … “and intelligence community professionals” … “against American citizens,” they appealed to listeners. They’d all read the same statement, then stitched it together for dramatic effect afterward. It was reminiscent of the cringe videos Hollywood celebs once made about Black Lives Matter in 2020, yet somehow dumber, more cringe and less compelling.
In follow-up media appearances, neither the turtleneck lump nor Kelly could articulate what laws the military had recently violated or where they were targeting Americans. They’ve both been asked repeatedly on some of the most liberal networks to offer up even one example, and neither could.
Irrelevant, Kelly wanted NBC viewers to know, because once Democrats were back in power, they might find something illegal.
“They may find out down the road they did something illegal,” he said.
And when would that be? In Mark Kelly’s mind, it would be when he takes the White House back for Democrats and dispatches the FBI to arrest active duty members of the military. The message is clear: Disobey Trump, serve as an example to undermine him, become ammunition for Democrats, or we’ll have you arrested once the pendulum swings.
Then the focus rapidly shifted to Trump’s strike on a Venezuelan drug boat. Turns out there were two strikes. Surveillance video showed a few survivors attempting to flee. Then they were struck again.
The media was giddy. Did Hegseth give the order? Is this the end of Pete Hegseth? The Washington Post reported that yes, he gave the order. The NYT swoops in and says no, the order came from an admiral.
Does any of it matter? Not really. Are these Americans? No, decidedly not. Their victims would have been American had they completed their trip. Were any laws actually violated? I’m no legal scholar, but I have seen several instances in which fleeing enemy combatants were struck a second, sometimes even a third time.
And just when the asinine debate about the entirely made-up notion of “international law” was hitting a fevered pitch, disaster struck.
The National Guard in D.C. were attacked by an Afghan man shouting “Allahu akbar.”
Slotkin’s turtleneck swallowed the lump. Kelly could be found nowhere.
Presumably, when they referred to targeting Americans, they were referring to domestic deployments like the one in D.C. But then those “uniformed military” these Dems care so much about were attacked by a jihadi, one Biden let into the country.
We can’t tell you what orders were illegal. We can’t really defend the dead Venezuelan drug runners. National Guardsmen sent to restore peace in the Capital were attacked and killed by a jihadi. Nevertheless, we maintain, you MUST refuse to obey ILLEGAL orders.
What are they? Nobody knows. All we know is you MUST REFUSE.
Needless to say, the whole flap gave me new respect for old Hilldawg. She attempted to subvert the presidency, and it took several years, dozens of investigators, some IG reports, and an entirely new administration to unravel.
These jokers just did it out in the open and then promptly turned to mush. I’m not praying for them to step up their game though. No no. This is too fun to watch.
