This is going to get ugly

Greetings, Dear Reader,

Welcome back to State of the Day, where I strip the euphemism and misdirection off national politics and give it to you straight; no ice, no mixer.

Ever wonder why there are no murals of Iryna Zarutska in liberal cities?

NO TEARS FOR IRYNA

The good news is, with every whiny little tear, we’re watching the life drain from the eyes of the neo-Marxist left. The bad news is all of this is going to get way more painful before it’s all over.

Jimmy Kimmel cried for Alex Pretti. Kimmel crying generally isn’t news and it won’t be this go-round either. The last time his tears triggered any actual headlines was when he was benched for spreading misinfo about Charlie Kirk’s death and was forced to apologize on air.

Jon Stewart is simply outraged about Alex Pretti, as he was for Renee Good. “They’re lying,” he said on his most recent show. “We saw it. That’s how brazenly they lie when they know we’ve seen the truth.”

He called the shooting “murder.”

To his credit, the initial communications from the GOP about Alex Pretti were over the top. A “terrorist,” an “assassin.” Pretti was neither of these things. He was just dumb and overwhelmed with liberal propaganda. You could throw a rock from where he was killed and hit a fraudulent Somali business or two. No joke, right on the same street.

But a “murder” is also over the top. Pretti had previously broken a rib getting in altercations with federal police. So he had a history of physically confronting them. If anyone was doing the premeditated targeting the day Pretti died, it was Pretti himself.

All of this is beside the point, however, because what we saw that day on the train in Charlotte was an actual, dead-to-rights, premeditated murder.

Did they cry any tears for Iryna Zarutska? No.

While there’s been plenty of death, rape, robbery and murder as a result of illegal immigration, Iryna wasn’t killed by an illegal alien. She was killed by lenient crime policy that came about as a result of the policy inversion we refer to as “woke,” or neo-Marxism, or cuttingly as “Gay Race Communism.”

The judge who released Decarlos Brown Jr., Zarutska’s murderer, was Magistrate Judge Teresa Stokes. Stokes is a mental health professional with zero law experience. Also a black woman (yay diversity!).

She had no business deciding what happens to violent criminals, and yet there she was.

Kimmel, Stewart, Stokes, Pretti, Good, and Zarutska, what unites them all, unfortunately, is bearing the brunt of corrosive liberal policy and, for half of them, the existential drive to maintain political influence.

Liberal policies have reduced American cities to ash on numerous fronts. Economically, they’ve never been more harsh on the middle class. Home ownership is impossible. Normal people are fleeing. What’s left are the very wealthy and very poor. You see this trend in all the major “sanctuaries.” Chicago, NYC, LA, San Francisco, and, yes, even Minneapolis, where rent and home prices have skyrocketed right along with debt and violent crime.

Education has also steadily declined while costs have increased in these areas.

When you get this mix of bad policy, lawlessness, government-instituted economics and withering educational institutions, normal people flee.

Nobody wants to get stabbed on a train commuting into a city they can’t afford to live in to work a job that won’t pay them enough to own a home even in the suburbs.

So people are moving en masse. And like the refugees fleeing communism in Venezuela, they move to red states, and what do they do when they get there? Denounce the left and register Republican.

Blue states are losing people like mad and, simultaneously, Democrat registration is cratering. The numbers for them are bad everywhere.

If trends continue, the upcoming census will look something like this.

Doing just back-of-napkin math, if this were to happen, a Democrat could win Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania and still lose the election. What’s more, the population loss would delete Dem seats in the lower chamber of Congress and add them to the GOP.

You can call the GOP’s motivation to mass deport a cynical ploy as much as you want, but the American people do not view illegal immigration favorably.

These numbers are an absolute disaster for Democrats. Loose or no immigration restrictions is plainly just bad policy that puts people’s lives at risk. It also results in billions in fraud, bilking taxpayers. Normal people see Iryna’s death and the “Quality Learing Center” and desperately want to get away.

The response from Democrats at this impending reality has been to whip what support they have into an existential frenzy. In Minneapolis, Democrat officials in the Walz administration are admins in chats designed to coordinate the interdiction of ICE raids. Their operations – which encourage average citizens to pursue and confront ICE – have resulted in two people getting killed and many more injured.

In Virginia, Democrats just introduced a bill to prevent enforcement of immigration law within 50 feet of a polling place.

Sheesh, can we call a spade a spade at this point?

The entire corrosive ideology coming out of the left, the one citizens are openly fleeing from, can only be held up by the importation of millions of illegal immigrants (voters?). Otherwise the math plumb stops making sense in a few years.

We should take a beat here, as Republicans, and own something. This is going to get ugly. This is also what I (and probably you, Dear Reader) voted for.

It’s sad seeing entire families roped up and sent back to their country of origin. It absolutely breaks my heart seeing crying children and mothers. These people are truly in my thoughts.

My charity, however, is not infinite. They can find infinite charity in church. My primary worry needs to be my family, my neighborhood, my town, city, state and then country.

The policies that allowed them to break the rules were bad for all the above.

Your tears don’t fool me, Jimmy. They need to go back. All of them.

That’s it for the free portion of today’s State of the Day.
