Right now there’s a fight over Reagan’s legacy, the “New Right,” and so-called “groypers” infecting the GOP. It’s lame. It’s lazy. In its attempt to power grab, it’s purely opportunistic. It’s designed to pacify, relegate and intellectually occupy the wrong people.
Virtually everyone doing the talking is missing the point. Every time I see the term “post-liberal” thrown around, I literally gag. The fact that the debate among self-styled conservative intellectuals has devolved into esoteric, academic slapfights over 1980s fiscal policy should be evidence enough that they’re either oblivious or willfully ignorant.
What makes Nick Fuentes compelling to young men is no different from what drove Andrew Tate’s flash a few years back: They represent a giant, obscene middle finger to all the excesses of the left.
It’s really that simple.
It’s not the “Jewry” hatred. It’s not the vicious demeaning of “women” (in fact, enslavement, some would argue). For some, those might be primary drivers, but for most, I’d wager, it’s simply the thumb in the eye of everything they hate that keeps them listening. The political left’s incessant bitching is music to the ears of a generation of unmoored men. They’ve been left behind, targeted for things as benign as opening doors for women, attacked for saying “ma’am.” They’ve been told explicitly not to bother applying.
Even if it isn’t shared, even if it’s viewed negatively, the explicit hatred is compelling to male audiences thirsty for authentic strength. In this climate, what’s intellectually, financially and socially gutsier than a guy straight up admitting he’s proudly racist, sexist and/or antisemitic?
It’s not, however, gutsy to denounce these things. They’re obviously vile. So when the left begs people like Sydney Sweeney to denounce them and she doesn’t, because one shouldn’t need to denounce obviously bad things one is not guilty of oneself, the clips go bonkers.
Remember when we were all annoyed with the frequency of the press demanding Trump denounce neo-Nazis? It wasn’t even that long ago.
When goofy right-wingers fall all over themselves to write staffwide emails with the express purpose of leaking them to the press, they’re just bending the knee to the left’s excesses without even being asked.
They don’t understand how it’s perceived by the same group they’re attempting to persuade. It reads like capitulation. It’s just caving to the same excesses of the left without any actual prompting from the left.
To normal dudes who might be paying attention, it looks like calorie-free virtue signaling. It looks like wearing a mask in the summer of 2022. #maskup #blacklivesmatter #nickfuentessucks #thefutureisfemale
If you want to make the Nick Fuenteses of the world less visible, let’s start with not writing lame emails to your staff telling them how much you love Jews, and then leaking them to the press so your donors know you are One Of The Good Ones.
Rank-and-file conservative men lost in the wilderness are not apt to view such performative nonsense like a flare in the darkness.
Men need actual paragons of healthy, strong, constructive conservatism. They need more Matt Walshes and way, way fewer Jonah Goldbergs. Young men today need intellectuals and politicians concerned for the fate of conservatism in America to busy themselves less with denouncing obvious evils entirely unprompted and more with fighting the evil at the gates.
Why am I still scared to put my family on public transit?
Why are public school classrooms still festooned with LGBT propaganda? Why is that even remotely acceptable?
Why is Dearborn, Michigan, a giant Muslim madrassa? Why is that acceptable in America? Why are we still allowing immigration, legal and illegal, to dilute the hand of American workers? Why are we still funding the college aspirations of wannabe left-wing radicals at the cost of future generations of Americans? Student debt will surpass $3 trillion and the laborers among us who never went to college will invariably be asked to pony up for it.
You want to sap audiences of their compulsion to turn to Fuentes and Tate? Annihilate the administrative structures that police masculinity and privilege feminine modes of conduct. Create opportunities for males to succeed. Fund trades rather than humanities. Fund builders. Encourage and institutionalize male traits that lead to success.
Finally, give them a better alternative. More Rogan and less Tate. More Kirk and less Fuentes. They need strong role models at the community, state and national levels who don’t partake in political theater designed to appease donors and credentialed Beltway dipshits.

I’ve recently been deeply considering Charlie. How did we go so quickly from draining the subversive, violent lefty stew that begot his assassination to a Twitter slapfight over post-Reagan conservatism?
It’s lame.
It’s not without irony, because Charlie was exactly the kind of example I’m describing above.
