Hey y’all, welcome back to Unfit to Print.
Washington’s hypothetical reasons for not doing things tend to fall apart under scrutiny.
THE EXCUSES ARE GETTING RIDICULOUS
Republican Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkoswki came up with a particularly dramatic reason to not support the SAVE America Act.
Imagine, she said, that you are a fisherman or school teacher in Unalaska, a remote island community off the southern tip of Alaska.
An Unalaska resident may have to fly 800 miles to Anchorage — spending thousands of dollars — to satisfy the ID and citizenship requirements in the election integrity bill, Murkowski argued.
Fairly compelling stuff.
Except someone decided to actually audit Murkowski’s excuse.
