THE QUESTION NOBODY ASKED

National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Tim Scott spent about 30 minutes Wednesday walking reporters through the Senate map and explaining how Republicans intend to hold their majority this November.

He talked about Kansas. Maine. Michigan. Iowa. Texas. Nebraska. Ohio. North Carolina. Ken Paxton. Donald Trump’s popularity. The One Big Beautiful Bill.

He even addressed affordability, calling 2026 “the year of affordability” and arguing that Republicans have an advantage on pocketbook issues like ratepayer protection pledges for data centers and taxes.

But during the Q&A portion of the call, one issue was notably absent from reporters’ question lists: the Iran War.
