Behind The Velvet Ropes Of Trump's Summit With Mr. Wonderful And A Pop Superstar
This was a wild news week, even by the Trump administration’s standards
I never thought I’d ever get to be in the same room as President Trump, Mr. Wonderful or Nicki Minaj. On Wednesday, I got to be in the room with all three and all at once.
How does that happen?
Well, President Trump’s administration hosted a summit featuring his new “Trump Accounts,” a federal program that deposits $1,000 into an account for every baby born from 2025 through 2028.
Nicki and Kevin O’Leary (known as Mr. Wonderful to Shark Tank fans like myself) donated to the program and attended the summit. They sat front and center, and it didn’t take long for Trump to pull them up on stage.
Nicki, though unprepared to give remarks, told the crowd that she was Trump’s biggest supporter and would be undeterred by the haters. The room went nuts.
I’ll admit, I texted my best friends from college a photo of Mr. Wonderful on stage. We binged Shark Tank most weekends together when we didn’t have homework. How cool to see him in person.
I never know where this job is going to take me, and I had no idea what to expect when I showed up to work Wednesday. And half of the time I could never dream up what I get to experience.
