Hey y’all, welcome back to Unfit to Print.
Something very strange is happening inside Washington, D.C. courtrooms.
DC JURIES WON’T CONVICT
U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro had a reputation for almost never losing a case.
Then she met DC juries.
Pirro’s office reportedly secured convictions in just four of its first eight federal jury trials this year. Since then, prosecutors have been hit with still more acquittals and hung juries.
Members of the legal community called Pirro’s record “embarrassing,” according to CNN.
But a review of the numbers suggests something deeper — and darker — is going on than mere prosecutorial incompetence.
