The Democrats believe they’ve found their white whale in Texas.
A white, folksy “preacher” who tells the liberal wine moms whipping their Subarus in front of ICE agents exactly what they want to hear.
James Talarico recently won the Democratic Senate primary in Texas and put Jasmine Crockett on the unemployment line. But Talarico is far too slippery for anyone — especially Christians — to celebrate anything to do with his victory.
Talarico is a Presbyterian seminarian and says his campaign is, in part, designed to present an alternative to conservative Christian politics.
But Talarico does not read scripture so much as reverse-engineer it. He begins with the conclusion demanded by progressive politics and then works backward. What he offers is not serious theology but therapy-speak wrapped in cherry-picked and out-of-context Bible verses.
It’s the religious equivalent of a “Live, Laugh, Love” sign.
Let’s examine his claims.
